Expectations. |
The TEAM should consider itself to be the model of what the Mississippi Teacher Corps looks for in a critical-needs public school teacher. The TEAM should carry itself with that idea in mind and meet the following expectations.
Attendance: You are an exemplar for new teachers. Perfect attendance is expected. It is understandable that illnesses of self or family, work obligations, or other emergencies may necessitate an absence. In this case, you may refer to the MTC sub list for an approved replacement, whom you are to compensate at a prorated rate (please ask MTC administration if you have any questions). Any deviation from the provided list requires approval from the Principal. You MUST seek approval of MTC administration for time off. You must notify ASAP in case of illness or emergency by emailing/calling the summer school Principal. Fraternization: The strength of the Mississippi Teacher Corps is its tight-knit, friendly atmosphere, which extends throughout all levels of the program. It creates an unrivaled support system and counteracts the omnipresent stress and tedium of the job experience. The MTC policy on fraternization states that the TEAM should have very limited association with 1st year teachers in non-MTC sponsored social settings. Overly informal relations set a bad precedent for 1st year teachers, some of whom will eventually become TEAM teachers. |
